Acuvue TruEye made by Johnson & Johnson is the first daily
disposable lens made of silicone hydrogel to enter the disposable
contact lens market. It combines the convenience of using a daily
disposable contact lens with the benefits of silicone hydrogel
materials. Acuvue TruEye is made of Narafilcon A (46%) and water (54%) -
and has a Dk/t of 118 making it the contact lens with the highest
oxygen transmissibility then any other daily disposable contact lens.
Lenses that have a high Dk/t mean the eyes are allowed to breathe easier
and reduce redness of the eyes due to hypoxia (lack of oxygen).
Narafilcon A allows an oxygen flux of 98% and also has the highest level
of UV-A and UV-B blocking then any daily disposable contact lens.
Acuvue TruEye also uses Hydraclear technology, a wetting agent that
makes the contact lens smooth and retains moisture to provide comfort
for long periods of wear.
Similar to its predecessor Acuvue Moist, Acuvue TruEye is available two
base curves 8.5 and 9.0 and powers ranging from +6.00 to -12.00
